My name is Jamie Killen and I’m a New York based photographer.
I’ve been making photographs for more than 15 years and my camera has been a steadfast companion throughout many different countries and adventures.
I draw my inspiration from the weathered faces and facades of the streets, the raw and ever-changing landscape of the metropolis, and the multitude of characters acting out small and unpredictable dramas in everyday urban life. I’m fascinated by people who aren’t like me and relentlessly seek to make photographs that honor them and their connection to place.
Be it street, portrait, travel, adventure, or documentary, through my photography I strive to capture ephemeral moments of contact, create images that behold the beauty and nobility of my subjects, and form an indelible and ever-lasting impression of the people and places that cross my lens.
